The Pathways Service offers both a treatment service and an engagement PIPE.
Suitable for:
High risk Cat B or C adult male prisoners with emotional, relationship and behavioural difficulties that prevent them from completing their sentence plans. The Engagement service offers men the opportunity to live in a supportive environment where there is a focus on interpersonal relationships, motivation to engage, group process and preparation for treatment readiness. The Treatment service offers more intensive therapeutic support for those prisoners who are able and motivated to address their emotional and interpersonal difficulties. This element of the service may suit prisoners who are willing to engage in Treatment, but unable to tolerate the intensity of a TC.
General suitability considerations include:
- Adult male
- At least 18 months to serve
- High risk harm – OASys score
- Category B and C prisoners
- Personality difficulties, but diagnosis not necessary
- Denial not a barrier
- Prisoner must be willing to participate – but we expect ambivalence
- Held by probation trust in London, South East/West/Central, Wales
- LD considered on a case by case basis
- Currently unable to accept sex offenders
- Men known to UKBA must have leave to remain
