There are two mental health centres in Bexley Borough where health and social care staff work jointly to provide a comprehensive service for adults with mental health problems and their families.
Offer:
There are community assessment and treatment teams based at EACH centre. These teams, depending on need, provide short or long term intervention. The long term intervention is for people with severe and enduring mental illness. The professionals involved include consultant psychiatrists, community psychiatric nurses, psychiatric social workers, clinical psychologists, and occupational therapists. The areas of difficulty they work with include: severe and ongoing mental illness (e.g. schizophrenia), depression, anxiety, phobias, and eating disorders.
In addition to providing treatment specific to mental disorder, the teams offers information on and links to employment, day services, education, training and leisure opportunities.

Referral Process
Referrals are typically made via the persons local GP. They can also be made by Offender Managers. Teams can be contacted if you have questions about the appropriateness of a referral. In addition, cases can be discussed with the LPP PD Pathways Psychologist or Specialist Offender Manager.
